The contribution from Danish shipping companies to the national accounts was a significant factor behind the balance of payments’ historic high when, in June, the balance hit 15.3 billion kroner, the largest monthly surplus ever. In comparison with May 2012, also a record month, the surplus increased with 2.6 billion kroner.
Behind the increase is also a services surplus of 2.3 billion kroner and of this, the growth in the exportation of maritime transportation accounts for the largest part, reveals numbers from Statistics Denmark.
