Smedegaard: The Danish shipping industry enjoys favorable conditions

Far and away Denmark’s largest actor in shipping, the Maersk Group, states it position on the conditions of running a shipping company in Denmark. “We enjoy favorable conditions in this country,” says Maersk Group CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen.

While the Danish government is in the process of providing optimum conditions for existing and new shipping companies in Denmark, the Maersk Group now states that Denmark generally enjoys favorable conditions which are necessary to run maintain a strong maritime sector.

“Of course there has to be favorable conditions for operating a shipping company in Denmark since it is one of the most flexible sectors on the whole and I do think those conditions are present in Denmark. There are definitely favorable conditions for running a shipping company,” says Maersk Group CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen to ShippingWatch.
