Esvagt is primarily known as a shipping company that helps shipping- and offshore companies if their ships or crew are in danger. But Esvagt is now taking the first steps to enter a new industry: the wind mill industry.
As wind mill parks are moving further and further out to sea, servicing them from land by sailing back and forth every day will become more difficult, according to Esvagt CEO Søren Nørgaard Thomsen. As a result, a new method is needed for performing service and maintenance on the wind mills. One solution, he says, could be to have a ship present for the employees working on the mills.
