Equity fund: Oil subcontractors a strong investment

There are plenty of opportunities in oil and gas, but not in shipping, says equity fund Maj Invest, which invested money in the Esbjerg-based company SubCPartner this spring, a subcontractor to the oil business.

This May, Maj Invest became an investor in SubCPartner, a subcontractor to offshore installations in both wind and oil. The company also performs repairs. Maj Invest chose SubCPartner because the company has a promising future, and because the wind- and oil market represents a good investment.

SubCPartner’s business is divided into two, with 40 percent going to oil- and gas, and 60 percent to wind. The wind part, which has the best future prospects due to its green nature, was important to Maj Invest, but the oil-and gas part is just as important for the coming years, and is far from being dismantled, says Maj Invest partner Jan Hove Sørensen.
