A targeted and comprehensive global promotion of the Danish maritime industry, strong focus on offshore activities and the Arctic, improved educative opportunities and a strengthening of the research and development effort across the entire industry especially within green and high tech solutions. These are some of the main points among the six concrete recommendations made by the Danish Government’s maritime growth team presented by ShippingWatch on Monday.
The proposal is to be discussed on 13 September by representatives from the entire maritime industry; that is shipping companies, suppliers, manufacturers, counsellors and training facilities. Furthermore, the Minister for Business and Growth, Ole Sohn, the Minister for Science, Innovation and Higher Education, Morten Østergaard, and the Minister for the Environment, Ida Auken, will also take part in the meeting. Some of the recommendations from the growth team will be incorporated into the Danish Government’s new maritime strategy which is expected to be presented by the end of the year with a purpose of lifting and uniting the industry as one of the strong Danish industries.
