Maersk receives transparency award

Today, Danish accountants have awarded this year’s CSR prize to the Maersk Group for the company being able to transparently and openly address the difficult issues in its CSR reporting.

Honesty: also when it hurts. The Maersk Group has been able to be honest in its CSR reporting which has resulted in the company receiving the prize for the best CSR report in 2012. So says FSR, the Association of Danish Accountants, in a Wednesday press release.

For eighteen years in a row, FSR has awarded the prize for the best CSR report from Danish companies. "This year, the winner is a company which, because of its size, has a huge societal importance both locally and globally and for whom financial results and social responsibility go hand in hand", the press release says. "By transparently and honestly addressing the difficult issues in the company’s CSR reporting, the winner of the prize focuses on the company’s social responsibility and possibilities to influence the society".
