ABB’s division in Esbjerg has been appointed the global centre of excellence for the entire global group in the area of development of engineer-designed instrument packages to the offshore industry. The new status could bring international orders to Denmark on a large scale, believes Carsten Sørensen, Vice President of ABB’s Oil & Gas Process Automation Division.

“In ABB’s business unit Oil & Gas, we work with so-called product solution centers with responsibility for different areas of technology. It can involve both execution of projects in a global context, but also to make sure the individual businesses are weighted globally in ABB. We have been awarded a product solution center in instrumentation and sensor technology. We are very pleased with that,” says Carsten Sørensen to ShippingWatch.
