Torm dismisses employees following bank agreement

Torm has let seven employees go, including the shipping company’s press officer, Jakob Risom. The employees have been let go because the shipping company has to return 22 ships to their owners earlier than scheduled.

Few days after the announcement of the deal with banks and tonnage owners on Tuesday, October 2nd, which gives Torm a period of peace and quiet to work, the shipping company has let a total of seven employees go, out of 300 office employees worldwide, including press officer Jakob Risom.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to completely avoid dismissals, even though we’ve tried to minimize the number as much as possible by, among other things, not rehiring for available positions. We are talking about seven employees out of approximately 300 in Torm’s offices around the world,” says Jakob Risom.
