Shell Manager: Shipping must choose new fuel quickly

The shipping industry must hurry up and choose what kind of alternative fuels to use instead of fuel oil as tougher regulation is right around the corner. So thinks Adam Ritchie, General Manager of oil market analysis for Shell Trading according to the oil news portal Platts.

The shipping industry will have to choose a fuel which will respect the tougher legislation on fuels – and better today than tomorrow. So says a Shell Trading Manager, Platts reports.

“The longer shipowners wait and see, the fewer choices they will have as the time nears for even more stringent environmental regulation on bunker fuel”, Adam Ritchie, General Manager of oil market analysis in Shell Trading said at a conference in Singapore Thursday.
