MSC follows Maersk in raising reefer rates

MSC follows in the footsteps of Maersk Line by increasing its rates on reefer containers. The price will go up by USD 1500 per feu and teu, starting January 1st, says the company in a press release. The higher reefer rates are being criticized by food manufacturers.

On January 1st, MSC will raise its price on reefer containers by USD 1500 per feu and teu. The increase applies to all routes.

“The current reefer rates are not high enough to make up for the towering and still rising fuel costs, and rate increases on all routes will be necessary in order to create a viable income level for the future,” writes MSC in a press release.
