Maersk releases oil numbers early

A.P. Moeller-Maersk will present their financial statements for the third quarter 2012 on Friday morning, but the numbers from the oil division Maersk Oil have been made available to the market as of today.

Oil production amounted to 240.000 barrels of oil equivalent per day this quarter, a 30 percent drop compared to the same quarter 2011. The total production for the first nine months of the year came to 262.000 barrels per day, down 22 percent, according to the Maersk Oil publication The Source.

Maersk expected 269.000 barrels per day for the quarter, according to estimates gathered by SME Direct for Ritzau Finans, which places production a bit more than 10 percent below expectations.
