Dutch shipyard steps up focus on Norwegian offshore orders

The Dutch Damen Group has officially opened a new office in Stavanger. Furthermore, Damen is assessed as being a serious candidate to the role of partner and new co-owner of the shipyard activities in the Norwegian Bergen Group.

The Dutch Damen group has now officially opened a new office in Stavanger. According to the Sales Manager for the new advanced office in the Norwegian capital for the oil and gas industry, the push in Norway is an expression of Damen Shipyards’ increasing presence within the offshore industry.

Recently, industry sources told ShippingWatch that they saw Damen as a serious candidate to the role of partner and new co-owner of the shipyard activities in the Bergen Group. The identity of the international shipyard targeted to have majority in the Bergen shipyard activities has still not been revealed.
