Security companies: Shipowners are not cutting down on security

Shipping companies are a long way from cutting down on armed guards, says Sonny Schürer, CEO of security company AS Soutions. Quite the contrary, the company is experiencing a tendency to cut down on money spent on consulting.

The economy is not making Danish shipping companies cut down on security on board Danish ships, says Sonny Schürer, CEO of AS Solutions. There might be some small adjustments to the number of guards employed, but that the Danish shipping companies are unwilling to spend money on armed guards is far from the truth:

"We don't see that they're saving. They may be adjusting a little on the number of guards on board, going from four to three guards, but I definitely don't see that they're cutting down on armed guards right now," says Sonny Schürer to ShippingWatch.
