Golden year for offshore investments in sight

2013 looks to become a golden year for investments in oil and gas. The industry expects that investments in offshore vessels and facilities will increase by 31 percent compared to last year, Asiasis reports.

Much is expected from the offshore market in the year to come. The industry as well as Clarkson Research expect that the interest from energy companies in investing in deep water research and production will continue to grow in 2013, Asiasis reports.

Therefore, it is generally expected that investments in offshore vessels and facilities will break previous records with 639 orders in 2013. According to Clarkson Research, this will be an increase of 31 percent compared to the 489 vessels last year.
