Further Clipper Group sales ahead

Clipper’s selling of chemical tankers taking place in the first days of 2013 is a part of the shipping company strategy of focusing on bulk and project Cargo, Clipper says. More sales are expected during 2013.

Wednesday, TradeWinds reported that the Danish carrier Clipper has sold two tankers built in the final parts of the 90’s and today three additional sales of product tankers have been announced. The sales are a part of a change in the carrier’s business profile with the focus moving away from product tankers to bulk and project cargo and the five first sales are likely to be supplemented by additional sales during the year.

“We confirm that we have sold 5 chemical tankers for delivery in the first quarter of 2013 and we will probably sell additional ships during the year. This is a part of our strategy to focus our business on two core areas: Bulk and Projects”, Clipper Group partner, Henrik Lund Dal, tells ShippingWatch. In April 2012, Clipper announced how the shipping company has chosen to focus on investments in project and bulk.
