Last week, DFDS and P+S Werften negotiated on a revival of the stranded cooperation between the two parties and now the negotiations seem to have concluded with an agreement to allow the crisis-ridden and insolvent P+S Werften to build the two ro-ro ferries ordered by DFDS.
“The signed order for two ro-ro special vessels for the Danish shipping company DFDS is now in our hands and is subject to various conditions. As we believe that these conditions will be fulfilled, the insolvency administrator of P+S Werften has instructed the operating company Stralsunder Schiffbaugesellschaft to implement a preparation team in order to ensure an organized start of production at the Volkswerft Stralsund on Monday, 14 January. 300 staff will commence the actual production a week later, on 21 January”, the P+S Werften insolvency administrator Berthold Brinkmann states in a press release.
