After 11 weeks of standstill on Volkswerft in Stralsund, the shipyard will restart the building of two ro-ro ferries for DFDS on Monday 21 January. The agreement between the parties has been signed but it has not been finally approved, the shipyard insolvency administrator Berthold Brinkmann informs in a statement on the situation of P+S Werften in Stralsund and Wolgast released late on Thursday.

“Because we believe approval will be granted, I've called on the operating company, Stralsunder Schiffbaugesellschaft, to take the appropriate steps to initiate production at the Volkswerft Stralsund. By placing another order, DFDS has quite clearly shown its confidence in the employees’ shipbuilding skills”, Berthold Brinkmann says.
