
Progress is being made in the negotiations between the port employees’ union ILA and the employer organisation USMX on the American East and Gulf Coast according to the governmental broker on the conflict following a new round of negotiations.
“The United States Maritime Alliance and the International Longshoremen’s Association conducted negotiations during the three day period January 15-17, 2013. In these negotiations the parties made progress and have agreed that the negotiations will continue under our auspices”, FMCS Director George H. Cohen said in a statement on Thursday.
