Evergas in purchase of a series of LNG ships

Evergas has ordered a series of medium sized LNG vessels from the Chinese shipyard company Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering. The first ships will be delivered in 2015 and will be constructed in cooperation with Wärtsila.

The Danish gas tanker carrier Evergas has ordered what they describe as “a series” of LNG vessels to be built at the Chinese shipyard Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (SOE) situated in Qidong, China and in which the parent company of Evergas, Jaccar Holdings, is a large shareholder.

“Our strategy has for long been focused upon being first movers into the medium size LNG segment where we expect to see great demand for bulk breaking operations, marine fuel transportation and short haul regional distribution . With the cooperation and trust of Evergas we have truly executed this new strategic direction of our business,” SOE CEO, Wang Jian Ping says in a press release.
