Platou: Weak volumes may affect Maersk Line

The Hong Kong-based shipping company Orient Overseas Container Line reports a drop in volumes in the fourth quarter, Platou says. Platou predicts a negative trend affecting Maersk Line.

In its fourth quarter report, the shipping company Orient Overseas Container Line states that its volumes dropped 6.7 pct. compared to the third quarter, Platou states in an announcement highlighting that the result is weaker than expected.

As expected by Platou, the fourth quarter freight rates dropped by 4.4 percent compared to the third quarter of 2012.
