Wärtsila profits from offshore orders

Wärtsila has presented a 2012 financial statement showing a larger orderbook and a growth in the net sales from 2011 to 2012. Among other things, the progress is caused by an increase in the number of offshore orders, environmental consciousness among clients and focus on new markets according to the Wärtsila CEO.

In 2012 the Wärtsila results have been better than those of 2011. The orderbook has grown by nine percent to EUR 4.9 million and net sales have grown by 12 percent to EUR 4.7 million. The company’s positive development is especially caused by a significant development in orders for ships particularly in the offshore market, Wärtsila states.

Furthermore, an increased awareness about CO2 emissions and the climate has also played its part in attracting more clients to Wärtsila.
