Shipping minister: DIS and tonnage taxes are crucial

The Danish shipping minister, Minister for Business and Growth Annette Vilhelmsen (The Socialist People’s Party), is now close to providing a guarantee for The Danish International Ship Register (DIS) and tonnage taxes – without having finally confirmed her intention to do so. ShippingWatch interviewed the minister.

The pressure on the Danish Minister for Business and Growth Annette Vilhelmsen (The Socialist People’s Party) to publicly provide a guarantee to keep The Danish International Ship Register (DIS) and the Danish tonnage tax is now prompting the minister to voice her full support in securing competitive frameworks for Danish shipping. Yet a clear confirmation that DIS and the tonnage tax will not be subjected to changes will not be given by Vilhelmsen.
