PwC: Shipping wastes CO2 opportunities

Shipping lags behind on sustainability reporting compared to other industries which may prove very costly for the industry in future, PricewaterhouseCoopers warns in new global benchmark analysis.

The shipping industry should, to a higher degree than today, begin to report on sustainability in the light of the industry’s increasing influence on the agendas of governments, authorities and clients.

This advice is given by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the auditing company’s new Global Shipping Benchmarking Survey concluding that shipping is “very quiet” in the debate, Lloyd’s List reports.
