City of Copenhagen buries maritime task force

After a long period of preparation, Copenhagen launched an ambitious plan to strengthen the Danish capital’s position as a maritime hub. Among other things, plans to create a maritime task force were introduced. Now, everything is scrapped.

The maritime development in Copenhagen is on stand-by. Apparently, there is no longer the necessary political will in the Copenhagen City Council to follow up on the ideas of creating a maritime task force which were meant to boost the maritime development in Copenhagen.

In May last year, the maritime task force was meant to begin its studies but these were pushed to the autumn of 2012 in order to await the Danish Government’s growth plan which was published in December. Since then, nothing has happened and it seems that it will stay that way.
