Nordea part of Scorpio newbuilding financing

The expanding Monaco-based tanker carrier, Scorpio, has secured a banking facility of USD 267 million. The money will be used for present and upcoming newbuildings, Scorpio says.

Monaco-based Scorpio Tankers has signed a commitment letter with the two Nordic banks, Nordea and Skandinaviske Enskilda Banken and the Dutch bank ABN Amro. The agreement covers a loan facility of USD 267 million which the carrier will use on present and future newbuildings, Scorpio says in a press release.
