Fearnley: TeeKay in major tank order

According to several brokers the Korean shipyard STX will be building up to 16 aframax tankers for TeeKay, Fearnley writes.

Up to 16 new vessels are likely to be included in the fleet of Canadian company TeeKay in the coming years. According to a number of brokers the tanker shipping company has ordered up to 16 aframax tankers from Korean shipyard STX, Fearnley informs.

“The vessels will be of TeeKay’s own “One Spirit” eco-design and delivery is scheduled for 2015 and 2016. The reported price is as low as USD 43.5 million”, the research firm writes.
