New Unifeeder-owner is a shipping-novice

The capital fund Nordic Capital – which owns the steel supplier, Bladt Industries, catering mainly to the offshore industry – has entered the shipping arena for the first time with the acquisition of Unifeeder. But Nordic Capital has a plan for further development of the company, an industry advisor tells Shippingwatch.

The investment fund, Nordic Capital, will take over control of Unifeeder from Montagu Private Equity, the parties reveal in a joint statement, but disclose no details about the terms of the deal.

The new owner of Unifeeder, Nordic Capital, is new to shipping. Geographically, the fund focuses on the Nordic region and Germany, with an emphasis on large and medium-sized companies.
