Thorco's sale of loss-making ships is now close to complete, CEO tells ShippingWatch. The ship sales have cost millions for the Stadil family's shipping business in recent years.

Thorco is close to completing the sale of several ships bought at a high price and which have been a drag on the Stadil family's shipping business for a long time now.

The decision to sell the ships was made around three years ago, and the ships have now more or less been handed off to new owners.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
