Klaveness CEO: Shipping's CO2 target not adequate in a few years

A few years from now, the target of a 50 percent reduction of CO2 as agreed by the IMO will no longer be sufficient, says Torvald Klaveness CEO and VP with the International Chamber of Shipping, Lasse Kristoffersen, to ShippingWatch.

The shipping industry itself felt that it had stretched far when the UN's International Maritime Organization, IMO, just a year and a half ago agreed to reduce shipping's CO2 emissions by 50 percent in 2050.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
