Eagle Bulk books loss in third quarter – but reports strong end to the year

Dry bulk operator Eagle Bulk did not manage to capitalize on a strong bulk market in the early third quarter, ending up in the red. But the fourth quarter is off to a strong start, says CEO.

US-based dry bulk shipping company Eagle Bulk lost USD 4.6 million in the third quarter. A decline compared to the same period last year, when Eagle Bulk booked a profit of USD 2.6 million, shows the company's third quarter interim report.

The adjusted operating result also decreased, by 35 percent to USD 13.2 million, while revenue rose 7 percent to USD 74.1 million.
