J. Lauritzen eyes opportunities with new fuels

J. Lauritzen has for close to a month been procuring and sailing on new low-sulfur fuels. There is a big difference between how far the various new fuels last per liter, and this opens up for commercial opportunities, says the company.

While the preparations for the new sulfur regulation have taken a lot of focus at J. Lauritzen for months, they also create commercial opportunities, says the dry bulk and tanker shipping company after it has gained its first experiences with the new fuel types in the past month.

J. Lauritzen has made around 50 transactions with new low-sulfur fuels in 24 ports around the world.
