China's coal import nearing record levels this year

Coal import is inching near its highest-ever level according to data from March to May this year, while capesize is declared the ship class with greatest growth development for the period.

Lowered global demand for coal, and thus lowered prices, has ousted China’s own coal production in the past three months, prompting Chinese businesses to order coal from abroad in a major way.
