Scorpio Tankers in open dispute with analysts

Analyst agency Fearnley lowered its recommendation of Scorpio Tankers last week. In a somewhat unusual development, the downgrade resulted in a sharp reaction from the company's Chairman, Robert Bugbee.

A few weeks before presenting its annual report 2014, the senior management team at New York-listed carrier Scorpio Tankers has responded publicly to Oslo-based analyst agency Fearnley, which on Wednesday this week decided lower its recommendation of the share.

Fearnley placed a 'reduce' label on Scorpio Tankers after the carrier recently announced that the 4th quarter result would finish below analysts' expectations. This marked the second consecutive quarter in which Scorpio Tankers lowered its forecast.
