
Expansive US-based dry bulk carrier Scorpio Bulkers, which is listed in New York, booked a net loss of USD 116.6 million in 2014, while the deficit in the last three months of the year came to USD 72 million.
The fourth quarter deficit included losses caused by divestment of assets for a total USD 55.5 million, according to the carrier's annual report, published Wednesday. The loss was caused by impairments related to the sale of seven newbuildings contracts, including a Kamsarmax and six LR2 product tanker contracts.
