Rickmers-Linie acquires Nordana Project

Rickmers-Linie will acquire the project division and employees of Nordana Project, according to ShippingWatch's sources. Nordana will continue as a tonnage provider with five vessels.

Danish shipping group Weco, owned by baron Johan Wedell-Wedellsborg (photo), will sell Nordana Project to German Rickmers-Linie, according to ShippingWatch's sources.

The move means that Weco withdraws from the market for multipurpose and project cargo, which like the rest of the dry bulk industry finds itself in the doldrums and has done so for years. ShippingWatch has learned that Nordana Project will cease to be an operator, and the company's employees will be transferred to Rickmers-Linie.
