Multipurpose crisis leads to large-scale MPP vessel sale

Danish Ocean7Projects has lost five MPP and heavy lift vessels after a major bank demanded that the owner, Dutch Abis Shipping, sell them. The Port of Rotterdam is full with laid up vessels.

Multipurpose operator Ocean7Projects, which is headquarted in the Danish city of Kolding, stands to lose five MPP and heavy lift vessels which the company, until recently, managed and chartered out for owner Abis Shipping.

The Dutch carrier's lenders have demanded that Abis Shipping's fleet of five project vessels be sold at auction.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
