Fire on Hapag-Lloyd ship now under control

Part of the crew has returned to Hapag-Lloyd's container ship after firefighters have gotten control of a fire in a series of containers that broke out a week ago.

The fire on a container ship belonging to Hapag-Lloyd is now under control, says the German shipping line in a press release.

Exactly one week ago, a fire broke out in a container on board Hapag-Lloyd ship Yantian Express, which was headed from Colombo in Sri Lanka to Halifax in Canada via the Suez Canal. The fire then spread to several other containers.
