Maersk will invest even more in reefer

The success of Maersk's ambitious end-to-end plan – which will see the company covering all aspects of a journey – depends on the development of the lucrative reefer market. That is where the focus must be, says the new head of Logistics and Services, Klaus Rud Sejling, to ShippingWatch.

With a leading market position within refrigerated containers, the reefer market is one area in which Maersk must trump its competitors in order to succeed in its comprehensive end-to-end strategy.

With the acquisition of Hamburg Süd, the Danish container carrier is already a global market leader on the lucrative reefer-container market, but the position must be further strengthened over the coming years.
