The predecessor was nicknamed "the divestment general"  yet without managing to really clean up the loss-generating Maersk Container Industry during his reign. A leader with a military background ultimately got things going.

There is never any doubt as to Sean Fitzgerald's presence, say those who know him. Nor is there any doubt about his ability to make decisions, they add quickly.

And he has been especially good at utilizing the latter since he, a year ago, took over the job as CEO at Maersk Container Industry (MCI), which has been a serious financial strain on the Maersk group for years.
