Maersk reports profit of USD 154 million after "solid progress"

The world's largest container liner company Maersk delivers an improved operating profit and underlying result in the second quarter. The group's core Ocean business unit was the main growth driver.

A.P. Moeller-Maersk delivers an improved profit for the second quarter, driven especially by growth in the company's Ocean segment, which covers container shipping.

The group booked a profit of USD 154 million for its continuing operations in the period, shows the interim report Thursday.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
