CMA CGM Group second quarter bottom line lands in the red

CMA CGM Group boosted revenue and increased container volumes in the second quarter "despite an uncertain worldwide geopolitical environment," writes the company. The bottom line, however, drops significantly compared to last year, landing in the red.

Container shipping company CMA CGM transported more containers at sea in the second quarter of the year, shows the company's interim financial report published Friday evening.

In total, the liner company freighted 5.52 million containers in the second quarter of 2019, equivalent to a 6.3 percent increase compared to the same quarter last year.
