MSC responds to CO2 emission criticism

In a statement, MSC rejects the list that was published recently in which the company is ranked as Europe's eighth-biggest emitter of CO2. The list is an incomplete analysis of the data, says the shipping company.

MSC does not recognize that it is one of Europe's biggest emitters of CO2, as otherwise concluded recently when NGO Transport & Environment, T&E, published a list of Europe's top CO2 emitters.

Here, MSC was only surpassed by coal-burning power plants.

Poseidon Principles set to raise ambitions in coming weeks

The banks in Poseidon Principles are working on the basis of halving CO2 emissions in shipping by 2050. At the same time, some of the same banks are working towards a target of CO2 neutrality by 2050 as part of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance. Before long, Poseidon will reassess its ambition.
