Maersk finished the third quarter with a doubling of its bottom line at a time when the world's container majors are benefiting from towering freight rates.

For the third quarter, the company reports a profit of USD 1.12 billion before taxes, a clear improvement from a profit of USD 589 million in the third quarter last year. The result comes despite the fact that revenue went down a bit compared to last year, at USD 9.9 billion.
