Cosco expects to add billions of dollars to its half year profit

Chinese operator Cosco's container business followed the market and booked significant gains in the first six months of the year, with strong growth in the most recent months.

The red-hot container market comes with a boost to Chinese operator Cosco Shipping Holdings, which expects to secure significantly higher profits in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period last year.

In a press release aimed at shareholders, Cosco writes that the first six months will bring in net profits of RMB 37 billion or around 5.7 billion against RMB 1.1 billion in the same period in 2020.
