The shipyard prices of newly built container vessels have skyrocketed in the first half of the year, writes Alphaliner. But that hasn't stopped container carriers from placing new orders.

The extraordinarily strong container market is also pushing up ship prices at major shipyards in especially China, South Korea and Japan.
