Container rates surge for the tenth week in a row

The rate index SCFI continues to go up and sets a new record for the tenth consecutive week.

The spot rates for container freight continue to surge and sets a new record the tenth week in a row, according to the rate index Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI ), which measures spot prices for container freight from Shanghai to a number of destinations worldwide.

This week, the index rose by 3.1 percent to 4054.42.
