"Shocked" MSC denies allegations of collusive manipulation of container market

Swiss-based family-owned container carrier MSC pushes back against the US shipper that has made serious charges against the carrier to the Federal Maritime Commission. MSC is considering whether the allegations amount to defamation.

The world's second-largest container line, MSC, is "shocked" by the allegations that US-based furniture group MCS Industries has put forward in a present complaint to the US Federal Maritime Commission, MSC informs in a press release concerning the allegations.

MCS Industries is filing a lawsuit against MSC and Chinese Cosco with the FMC, alleging that the two container carriers are manipulating the container market and pushing customers into the expensive spot market.
