Container rates decline after record streak

After setting new records for 20 consecutive weeks, the SCFI index takes a dip this week.

Container freight spot rates took a dip this week after setting new records for 20 weeks straight, according to the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which tracks the spot rates of container freight from Shanghai to a string of destinations around the world.

At 4,614.1, the index was down 0.6 percent this week.
