Analyst: Maersk takes new leap forward, will continue record earnings this year

Maersk’s revenue and operating income will take a new leap forward when the world’s second-largest container line publishes its quarterly financials on Aug. 3. Analyst expects CEO Søren Skou to upgrade the group’s guidance to a record operating result.

The highest profit in the history of Maersk’s domestic Danish market stands to be dwarfed once the company closes its fiscal year on New Year’s Day, overwhelmingly likely to surpass last year’s record profit of USD 18bn.

Such is the assessment of Senior Analyst Mikkel Emil Jensen of Danish bank Sydbank ahead of the publication of Maersk’s second-quarter financials on Aug. 3.
