Container rates decline for seventh week in a row

The price of container freight out of China continues to drop, this time for the seventh consecutive week.

Spot prices on container freight from Shanghai to the rest of the world fell for the seventh week in a row this week, according to data provided by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange on Friday.

The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on container freight from the major Chinese city to a range of destinations the world over, receded by 2.7% to 3,887.85 this week, which ended on Friday.
